Preparation of files for exposure in the CTP system

Ready digital materials should be delivered to the FTP server:

In order to set up an account on FTP, you must send a demand to the following address: k.garbino@garbino.pl
Each time you send files to the FTP server should be confirmed by email.
We only accept files in PDF/X-1A format: 2001
PDF files should be prepared in accordance with the ISO standard, depending on the type of paper:
ISOCOATED or ISOUNCOATED Ale Profiles cannot be set in a PDF file.

PDF files should:

contain trim boxes in net format (in case of imposition it is necessary!)

✓

be composite (not parted)

✓

be after final text corrections

✓

be generated in the same way for a given title, have identical margins and page format

✓

contain all fonts, preferably PostScript (Embedded)

✓

contain pages connected by chapters (do not send each page separately, unless in the case of replacement)

✓

contain empty pages if they appear in a given production

✓

be included in the appropriate margins

✓

Include bleed (if required by the PDF)

✓

Include at least 5 mm bleed on each side

✓

contain graphics/photos in a resolution not less than 220-300dpi

PDF files should not:

✓

contain information about the Rastra angles

✓

be made on the OPI server

✓

contain hair thickness lines (hairline)

✓

contain transparency

✓

include registration marks (they may optionally include crop marks)

✓

contain RGB or Pantone elements in the works of CMYK (these elements will be automatically skipped on CMYK)

File names:

✓

you must not place accent signs (śćółąźżć) and special characters (*&^+:, etc.)

✓

they should be related to the name of the client and pages numbering according to the diagram: 0001_0100 file name

✓

retreate files must be sent according to the same scheme as above, but each page in a separate file. With corrections exceeding 10% of the number of pages, please send all files in its entirety again.

Additional information

  • All graphic elements must be in the CMYK space.
  • All additional colors, e.g. Pantone or Spotcolor, must be converted into CMYK. For unusual works, among others containing additional colors, it is necessary to provide a trial PDF file for verification.
  • Pliki do druku czarno-białego powinny być zamienione na grayscale.
  • Texts and black drawing elements on colorful nets should have overprint.
  • You can't inflict overprints for white.

Default exposure parameters
(when the client does not specify otherwise):

  • Liniator 175LPI (otherwise please provide the ruler in the order).
  • Resolution 2400 dpi.
  • All 100% Black elements will have an overprint attribute and will be printed on the others!
  • All additional colors or RGB elements will be outparted to CMYK!
  • The color profiles will be removed.
  • We do not interfere in the client files!
